The Legal Commission of the French Football League, which was approached by Kylian Mbappé, recommended mediation on Wednesday.
Kylian Mbappé, however, is not willing to negotiate. The player rejected this proposal, and his lawyer, Delphine Verheyden, spoke out.
She clarified that Mbappé simply wants to be paid for his work, in accordance with labor laws and the terms of his fixed-term contract.
“Labor law must apply”
“My client simply wants his work to be paid at this stage, as should be the case for any other player in his situation, and for any employee who has completed their fixed-term contract,” she said in *Le Monde*.
“We have an employee on a fixed-term contract who is reaching the end of their term, and the employer says: ‘You’re leaving elsewhere, I’m not going to pay you for the work you’ve done.’ Labor law must apply,” she added.
