Both Xavi and Luis Enrique have declined to label either team as the favorite ahead of Wednesday’s PSG-Barcelona clash in the Champions League.
On Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain will face FC Barcelona at the Parc des Princes for the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final. Ahead of this crucial match, PSG coach Luis Enrique refused to downplay Barcelona’s status, even though they are considered the underdogs in this encounter.
“No one can think that Barcelona is weak, it is a strong Barcelona. They have a good offensive dynamic. They have very good players; it is a club with a lot of experience that has already won 5 Champions League titles. It is not easy, but I feel stimulated. I hope we will have two beautiful matches,” commented the Spanish coach in a press conference on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Xavi also stated that Barcelona does not enter the match as the favorite. “This is not a strategy. They are the favorites because they have a great team. We are excited, but it is true that we are not the favorites. I truly believe this. PSG is the favorite; this club managed to take one of our best players, Ousmane Dembélé, this summer,” reminded the Spanish coach in a press conference.
