In the fourth matchday of the Champions League group stage, Paris Saint-Germain faced a challenging match against AC Milan. PSG left Milan with another defeat, losing 2-1. Vitinha, the 23-year-old midfielder for PSG, shared his thoughts with Canal+ Sport after the match:
“We knew it was already going to be a difficult match. That’s the truth. We had a tough match, especially with the fans, but that’s not an excuse. We need to do better. We didn’t manage to play our style until about 15 minutes into the first half, and even after that, we got too involved in Milan’s game instead of sticking to our own. I think that didn’t allow us to control the game.
In the second half, we wanted to get the draw and control the match, but the goal changed everything. The truth is that our way of playing should remain the same, but it’s challenging to find spaces and have the patience to seek the second goal. It’s difficult to talk after the match. It’s too heated, and it’s sad.”
Vitinha’s assessment reflects the disappointment and frustration PSG experienced during the match.
