It’s official: Eric Garcia will not be joining PSG. The FC Barcelona defender, whose contract ends next June, has ultimately chosen to extend his deal with the Spanish champion, despite a serious approach from Paris.
Eric Garcia has rejected PSG’s bold advances. Paris wanted to make him a luxury backup for Hakimi, but the answer is no. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Spanish international has reached a preliminary agreement to extend his contract in Catalonia. Paris had made him a concrete offer, but Garcia never really hesitated: his priority was Barça.
Flick changed everything, end of the file for Paris
Attracted by his growing role this season, Garcia was convinced by Hans-Dieter Flick, who has made him a key part of his defense since the summer. At 24 years old, the former Manchester City player is thriving in the Blaugrana locker room and did not consider leaving.
PSG, in search of defensive reinforcements, will therefore have to remove this option from their list. Garcia remains at Barça, and Paris is back on the hunt.
