PSG and Ousmane Dembélé’s contract extension is in serious jeopardy. Although his current deal runs until 2028 and he is coming off a monumental season capped by a Ballon d’Or win, a departure now appears to be a real possibility.
Are PSG growing frustrated with Ousmane Dembélé? Speaking on France Bleu, journalist Bruno Salomon confirmed the tension. The club has no intention of entering another bidding war, setting the stage for a potential standoff with the player.
PSG’s New Salary Policy Blocks Negotiations
The issue is clear: Paris has locked in a new wage policy since Mbappé’s departure and now refuses any excess reminiscent of the Neymar–Messi era. The demands from Dembélé’s camp are reportedly considered completely outside the club’s framework by management.
On air, the journalist did not hold back. He stated: “For me, there is a real Ousmane Dembélé problem, and I personally believe that the contract extension that still hasn’t happened is a genuine issue that will drag on until the end of the year. In any case, Paris will not accept the conditions he wants — something totally unrealistic that would take us back to the Mbappé, Neymar or Messi days. That’s over. Just play football, for God’s sake. Focus on the game, and you can go earn your money elsewhere later — but play football.”
