Paris Saint-Germain has secured the signing of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli this winter, with the actual cost of the transfer exceeding the initially announced amount.
Did Khvicha Kvaratskhelia cost more than expected? While his transfer was initially estimated at €70 million, PSG ultimately agreed to pay €80 million to convince Napoli to part ways with their player.
To comply with financial fair play regulations, the Parisian club opted for a staggered payment rather than an immediate full payment.
According to journalist Gaetano Brunetti (Areanapoli):
- €24 million was paid in January.
- The remaining €56 million will be settled in four installments of €14 million each.
Although this is a significant sum, Napoli will now have to make substantial investments to find a replacement for Kvaratskhelia, which diminishes the financial benefit of this deal for the Italian club.
