At Barcelona, preparations are already underway for the next big shake-up on the bench. Internally, one name keeps coming up insistently: Luis Enrique. If Hansi Flick’s spell comes to an end, the blaugrana club wants to make a major move and bring back the Asturian coach, currently in charge of PSG.
Could PSG see Luis Enrique slip through their fingers? Flick’s project still raises doubts despite decent results. His spectacular style is attractive, but it does not guarantee longevity. At Camp Nou, the club does not want to be caught off guard: the succession plan is already being considered, and Luis Enrique ticks all the boxes.
Barcelona targets Luis Enrique as top coaching priority
According to El Gol Digital, Barcelona is preparing an approach in the near future, with 2027 as the target date. Luis Enrique is viewed as the number one priority if Flick does not extend his contract. The plan is simple: if the German coach leaves, an immediate push will be launched to convince the Asturian with a massive offer.
PSG has not yet extended Luis Enrique’s contract. That timing could work in Barcelona’s favor, as the Paris coach would then be at the end of his deal. PSG is actively trying to secure a renewal, but nothing has been signed so far. Barcelona wants to avoid any bad surprises and lock in the post-Flick era with a big-name manager capable of raising the level even further.
