Mauricio Pochettino has been appointed as the new head coach of the U.S. Men’s National Team, as announced by the U.S. Soccer Federation on Tuesday.
Following his stints with PSG and Tottenham, Pochettino is now taking on the role of national team coach. “The U.S. Soccer Federation has named Mauricio Pochettino as the new head coach of the U.S. Men’s National Team. At 52 years old, Pochettino is a highly respected and experienced manager who has achieved success with several major European clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, Paris Saint-Germain, and Chelsea. Known for his ability to build dynamic teams, he will now lead the USMNT, bringing his extensive experience and tactical acumen to guide the team towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup on home soil.”
A tough task ahead for the USMNT
The Argentine will face the significant challenge of preparing the American team for the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted jointly by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
