PSG are not done with their transfer business yet. Despite an already very active summer, Paris intend to use the final days of the window to fine-tune Luis Enrique’s squad. More departures remain possible, but further arrivals could also take place.
Luis Campos confirmed as much before the match against Rennes: “This transfer window is far from over, it is still open. Even in terms of arrivals, if we find a good opportunity, we will go for it.” Paris, however, do not want to sign players simply for the sake of it. The strategy is to monitor good opportunities and move quickly if a profile perfectly suited to Luis Enrique’s requirements becomes available.
Three Positions Still Being Monitored by PSG
Three areas are particularly under consideration: goalkeeper, central defence and attack. The priority is at the back, where PSG are still looking for a right-footed centre-back who can also operate at right-back. Luis Campos has been searching for this profile for several weeks, with the aim of providing another option behind Achraf Hakimi without signing only a specialist full-back. That versatility fits perfectly with Luis Enrique’s philosophy, as he values players capable of occupying several positions. Paris are also keeping an eye on the goalkeeper market.
Finally, PSG are looking for a winger capable of adding pace and, above all, making runs in behind. That move could depend directly on departures, with Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye still possible candidates to leave before the window closes. If Barcola were to depart in particular, Paris would lose a player who is especially dangerous attacking space. Despite the arrivals of Ferran Torres, Mika Godts and Maghnes Akliouche, Luis Campos could therefore target a different type of attacker to complete the squad.
PSG still have a few days to act and are not expected to rush. But if an attractive opportunity emerges, Luis Campos is ready to accelerate. Luis Enrique had delivered exactly the same message: “We remain open to possibilities. We can keep going until the final day.”
