PSG to Sign 3 players this winter, but not just anyone

PSG is expected to be active during this winter transfer window, with at least one signing for each position: a defender, a midfielder, and a forward. However, caution is advised, as Luis Enrique will not recruit just for the sake of it. These will be targeted choices.

According to Laurent Perrin, a journalist at Le Parisien, PSG will make smart signings this winter. “We saw this summer that Luis Enrique and Luis Campos do not take risks and only invest when they are sure of their choices,” reminds Laurent Perrin. There is also no question of disrupting the balance of the locker room: “They will never sign a player who could destabilize the locker room. That’s why you won’t see any more minor stars arriving.”

This caution has been particularly evident in the right-back position. Despite the lack of a backup for Achraf Hakimi, Paris did not sign anyone due to the absence of an ideal profile. This is a strategy they stand by: “They will continue their strategy with young players because it is part of the project. And it’s working,” emphasizes Laurent Perrin, while specifying that the club could recruit “but not just anyone and not at any price.”

Since Luis Enrique’s arrival, this new philosophy has been bearing fruit: most of the signings have met expectations. Pacho, Neves, Doué, and Kvaratskhelia have established themselves as key starters, and even though Zabarnyi and Chevalier still need to confirm their potential, Paris is moving forward methodically. On the field and behind the scenes, the two Luis remain the guarantors of a project driven by competition and collective effort.
