Is Fabian Ruiz finally going to extend his contract with PSG? In recent days, the trend suggested he would be leaving, but in fact, that’s not the case.
Luis Enrique denounced this weekend the multiple fake news stories about PSG… and one of them concerns Fabian Ruiz. Linked to Paris Saint-Germain until June 2027, Fabian Ruiz could ultimately commit to a longer stay with the capital club.
At 29 years old, the Spanish midfielder, who has made 21 appearances and scored 2 goals in all competitions this season, is reportedly close to reaching an agreement to extend his contract until June 2029, according to Matteo Moretto and Fabrizio Romano.
A tactic for negotiation?
A turnaround considering that just a few days ago, a departure during the next summer transfer window seemed likely. Courted notably by Galatasaray, the former Napoli player was no longer unanimously supported internally, and according to the Spanish press, Paris was not particularly planning to extend his contract.
This sudden change of direction raises questions: has the Parisian club maintained ambiguity to expedite discussions and reach an agreement more quickly? The hypothesis remains credible.
