Paris Saint-Germain are already preparing for life after Ibrahim Mbaye. With the young Senegalese forward increasingly likely to leave, the French champions are monitoring Adil Hamdani, a 17-year-old winger developed by Olympique Lyonnais. The Lyon youngster is being considered as a possible option to replace Mbaye in the Paris squad.
Ibrahim Mbaye has been sidelined by Luis Enrique because he wants to leave the club. Like Bradley Barcola, he is not expected to play while his situation remains unresolved. In the meantime, PSG are already looking for a potential replacement, with Hamdani now on their radar, according to L’Équipe journalists Hugo Guillemet and Loïc Tanzi.
Hamdani emerges as a potential successor to Mbaye
The situation is particularly attractive for PSG because Hamdani’s contractual future remains uncertain. The 17-year-old is still under an academy contract with Lyon that runs until the summer of 2027. OL have offered him an extension, but the winger has yet to accept it. Paris see the opportunity as closely linked to Mbaye’s possible departure, with Liverpool having worked for several weeks on a deal for the Senegal international. Negotiations remain difficult, however, as PSG are demanding a significant fee and have no intention of selling their young forward cheaply.

Hamdani fits the club’s recent strategy of recruiting high-potential youngsters before their market value rises significantly. Hamdani is still at the very beginning of his career, but his profile is already attracting attention. Developed by one of France’s leading academies, he could become a particularly interesting market opportunity if no agreement is reached with Lyon over a new contract. Much could now depend on the Mbaye situation: if his departure is confirmed before the end of the transfer window, PSG’s interest in Hamdani could quickly become much more concrete.
