PSG: XXL Barcola–Rashford Swap, the €70m Madness

Marcus Rashford is playing this season at FC Barcelona. Loaned from Manchester United this summer, the English forward has been shining in Catalonia to the point that Barça want to trigger his purchase option. The problem is that the club’s fragile finances open the door to competition.

What if PSG proposed a swap? Bradley Barcola has been less decisive this season, and since the arrival of Kvaratskhelia things have become more complicated. Enough to consider a departure? Maybe. Marcus Rashford could go the other way. Or almost.

PSG Explore a Barcola–Rashford Swap

Paris Saint-Germain are keeping a close watch. According to the British press, PSG are closely following Rashford’s season and could make a move. Better still, a swap deal involving Bradley Barcola has been mentioned, an idea put forward by Keith Wyness, former executive at Aston Villa and Everton.

Thirty million euros versus seventy? For Manchester United, the deal would be attractive: securing a younger player rather than seeing Rashford leave for around €30 million, as set out in Barcelona’s option. PSG could then gain up to €40 million, with the French winger valued at €70 million. In Paris, Barcola is criticized but still capable of moments of brilliance, as shown against Rennes. The summer is shaping up to be a hot one.
