In Téléfoot, Luis Campos discusses the new strategy of PSG: the end of signing stars at exorbitant prices, and focusing on young, intelligent, collective talents capable of handling the pressure of Paris.
PSG has changed dimension… without stars. The goal: to build a sustainable project, blending short, medium, and long-term plans, with a team that is more French if possible. Luis Campos, the sporting advisor of PSG, explains the club’s new policy.
“From day one, I spoke with the president, and we have always thought about building a project that is not only focused on the short term but also on the medium and long term. Our idea is to take younger talents who know how to play with others, and at the same time, to bring in intelligent players. We are not just looking for the player who is fast, intense, or very technically skilled,” explained the sporting director of PSG.
A more French PSG
“We are looking for players who are collectively very strong and have the ability to handle the pressure in a club like PSG. It’s a joint effort, and the coach has done an extraordinary job. We all also have a bit of that dream of having a more Parisian, French team,” he added.
