Thirteen years after his departure, Thiago Silva could be packing his bags for… Milan. At 41 years old, the Brazilian defender would become a serious option for the Rossoneri during the winter transfer window.
According to La Repubblica, AC Milan is considering a surprise return of their former cornerstone Thiago Silva, who also played for PSG and is currently at Fluminense, where his contract runs until June 2026.
Allegri pushes for a return as early as January
The Milan coach does not want to wait until summer: he is requesting Thiago Silva this winter for a six-month stint, once the Brazilian season is over. Currently third in Serie A, just two points behind Inter and Roma, AC Milan is clearly aiming for the title and is looking for an experienced leader to solidify their defense. The example of Modric, still indispensable at 40, seems to inspire Allegri.
Fluminense wants to keep him… but won’t lock him down
Despite his age, Thiago Silva remains an essential figure: 41 matches in 2025, 8 starts in the last 9 games, and his importance in the locker room is intact. The Brazilian club wishes to extend his contract until 2026 but says it is ready to respect the player’s decision, whatever it may be.
It remains to be seen if “O Monstro” will be tempted by one last European challenge… or if he will choose to complete the circle in Brazil.
