Lucas Beraldo, 21 years old, who was supposed to embody the future of the Parisian defense, has apparently had enough of being a mere spectator. Arriving in January 2024 with the label of the little prodigy from São Paulo, the Brazilian (6 caps) has never managed to establish himself as a key player in crucial matches. And evidently, patience has its limits.
According to L’Équipe, Beraldo has clearly informed the club that he wants to see if the grass is greener elsewhere. This desire was already hinted at this summer through “powerful intermediaries.” It has resurfaced today, even stronger, in the heart of autumn 2025.
Beraldo wants to play for the World Cup
The newspaper reveals: “This is not new; the former São Paulo defender, recruited in January 2024, does not enjoy this status. He had, notably by relying on powerful intermediaries this summer, hinted to the Parisian management that he wanted more playing time elsewhere. This is still his mindset in autumn 2025. And he has made this very clear during recent exchanges.”
In short: Beraldo wants to play, now. Because the World Cup is approaching. And without playing time, a potential selection is drifting away. If he cannot do it in Paris, he would be ready to slam the door as early as this winter. A hot topic to follow.
