Despite a tense exit to Real Madrid, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi continues to speak highly of Kylian Mbappé’s time in Paris—placing him alongside club legends like Messi, Neymar, and Ibrahimovic.
Is this the start of a reconciliation? Just days ago, Mbappé congratulated PSG on their Champions League victory. In return, Al-Khelaïfi, speaking on France 5, took the opportunity to publicly thank the French striker for his years at the club.
“I want to thank Kylian for everything he gave to the club. Him, Messi, Neymar, Ibrahimovic… all those players were part of an important era for PSG. We’re lucky this year, even without him, but I wish him the best at Real—from the bottom of my heart—as long as he doesn’t play against us,” NAK said with a smile. “He’s a great star, a great player. We have a little conflict, sure (smiles).”
Reunion on the horizon?
Despite lingering financial tensions—namely the unresolved €55 million dispute—the tone from both sides has softened.
Mbappé has yet to face PSG in a Real Madrid shirt, but that could change soon. A high-stakes clash might be on the cards this summer at the Club World Cup, should both clubs reach the final stages. A showdown the football world is already buzzing about.
