PSG’s pursuit of Ilya Zabarnyi is on hold—for now. Despite being on the club’s radar for several weeks, there’s been no breakthrough in negotiations with Bournemouth.

The 22-year-old Ukrainian centre-back, under contract until 2028, is valued at €70 million excluding bonuses—a fee PSG is not ready to match at this stage.

According to Le Parisien, talks have stalled, though Paris still views Zabarnyi as a long-term defensive solution. However, with the Club World Cup knockout stage looming, PSG could revisit the move during the second player registration window (June 27–July 3).

If progress is made, Zabarnyi could be registered in time for the round of 16, giving Luis Enrique an extra option for the final sprint. Until then, PSG waits for Bournemouth to soften their stance—or for Zabarnyi to push from his side.
