It’s official: Hugo Ekitike has joined Liverpool in a €95 million deal (bonuses included). A major move for Eintracht Frankfurt… and a huge financial win for Paris Saint-Germain.
When PSG sold Ekitike to Frankfurt for €16.5 million last year, they cleverly negotiated a 20% clause on the future resale profit. Now that the striker has been flipped to the Premier League giants, PSG are set to receive around €15 million — pure profit, without lifting a finger.
Ekitike joins France’s elite transfer list
With this move, Ekitike enters the Top 5 most expensive French players of all time, alongside Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, Antoine Griezmann, and Paul Pogba. After rediscovering his form in the Bundesliga, the former Reims talent is expected to become Liverpool’s next attacking leader under new coach Arne Slot.
Liverpool’s summer spree crosses €300M
Ekitike is the latest marquee signing in a blockbuster window for the Reds, who have also landed Florian Wirtz (€125M), Jeremie Frimpong (€40M), and Milos Kerkez (€47M). With the total spend now over €300 million, all eyes will be on Ekitike to justify his price tag — and silence any remaining critics.
Time for him to prove he belongs at the very top.
