Mourinho says it loud: PSG are the best team in the world

Ousmane Dembele

José Mourinho, never one to mince his words, has once again made headlines with his bold statements — and this time, it’s Paris Saint-Germain that earns his highest praise.

In an interview with Canal 11, the Portuguese coach downplayed the significance of the new FIFA Club World Cup, calling it “a glorified exhibition tournament” reminiscent of the pre-season U.S. tours he took part in with Real Madrid and Inter Milan. He even joked about Chelsea’s win, saying: “They’ll sell a lot of shirts with the new badge, that’s all.”

Ballon d’Or… and a nod to Dembélé?

Mourinho added that the Ballon d’Or should go to someone who actually won major titles, without naming names — but some have seen a subtle hint towards Ousmane Dembélé, who played a key role in PSG’s treble-winning season (Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and Champions League).

But the real highlight? The Special One’s pick for the team of the season: “The best team in the world right now is Paris Saint-Germain.”
