Two years after leaving the spotlight for Al-Arabi in Qatar, Marco Verratti (32) could be on his way back to Europe. The Italian midfielder, once the heartbeat of PSG, is reportedly being pushed towards the exit by his agents — and a Premier League giant has him on their radar.
Could Verratti return to Europe? Not to PSG, but to England? According to Fichajes, Manchester United are seriously considering the former Paris playmaker.
New boss Ruben Amorim is said to be seeking experience and stability in midfield, and Verratti could fit the bill. With just six months left on his contract in Qatar, a low-cost January move is possible. A return to the top level might even boost his chances of making the 2026 World Cup.
But only as Plan B
Caution, though: Team Talk reports that Verratti is not United’s top target. Their real priority is Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, valued at €40m. Still, if that deal proves too difficult, Verratti could emerge as a fallback option — and Europe’s elite stage could open up for him once again.
At 32, Verratti still dreams of one last major challenge. He has been linked with Juventus, Real Madrid, and Manchester before, but never made the leap. This time, a Premier League adventure might finally write the closing chapter of his career.
