Big blow for Paris Saint-Germain: both Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué are set for spells on the sidelines — and Dembouz’s absence will be even longer.
The double setback with France has left serious damage… and a huge hole in PSG’s attack. According to L’Équipe and Fabrice Hawkins, Dembélé will be sidelined for six weeks.
The winger injured his right thigh on Friday shortly after coming on against Ukraine with Les Bleus — despite PSG’s warnings about the risk. He will now miss the Champions League clash with Atalanta and the “Classique” against Marseille.
OM, Atalanta and Barça without Doué
To make matters worse, Désiré Doué picked up a calf injury and was forced off at half-time of the same game. His absence is expected to last three to four weeks. Both players will miss Atalanta, Marseille, and could also be ruled out for the showdown with Barcelona — if not more.
Two injuries sustained on international duty, at the worst possible moment, leaving PSG seriously weakened ahead of a decisive September. The Parisian club will no doubt be fuming with France coach Didier Deschamps.
