PSG is ready to join the battle for Adam Wharton, the new English sensation from Crystal Palace. At just 21 years old, the midfielder is causing a stir in Europe, and his club has already set the rules of the game: no less than 100 million euros to hope to recruit him.
According to TBR Football, Paris, as well as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, are closely monitoring the player, who is considered a “generational talent” by his management. Palace is convinced: Wharton is of the caliber of Declan Rice or Moises Caicedo, both of whom were transferred for over 100 million last year.
Will PSG dare?
The London club knows it cannot hold onto its gem forever. A new contract until 2027 is being offered to delay the inevitable, but PSG’s growing interest could accelerate everything. Luis Enrique, attracted by his complete profile and work rate, has made him a long-term priority to strengthen his midfield.
A Palace executive admits: “We are not putting an official price yet, but we know he is already worth as much as the best midfielders in the world at his age.”
Clear message: to snatch Wharton, one will have to open the checkbook. And PSG, more ambitious than ever, could very well be the one to dare.
