OM has put maximum pressure on PSG. By beating Brest 3-0 at the Vélodrome, Marseille has temporarily taken the lead in Ligue 1. Paris must respond.
This OL/PSG match is crucial. With OM’s victory, Paris has no choice but to win this Sunday evening. A draw will not be enough: Marseille has a better goal difference (+17 compared to +12). Luis Enrique and his players must therefore win at the Groupama Stadium to reclaim their throne and avoid a break under pressure.
Before the match, Luis Enrique was not sounding the alarm. Yes, Ligue 1 is more competitive this season, but there is no question of panicking. “We are first in the league (before the OM match, editor’s note) and well positioned in the Champions League. Can it be more positive than that? I understand that you want us to win every match 5-0, that we concede fewer goals, but it doesn’t work like that.”
He added: “The situation is good. There have been many complicated things since the start of the season, but we have overcome them. We continue, we can still improve. There is no concern for me and for the players.”
The rest of matchday 12
After Paris FC–Rennes (0-1) and OM–Brest (3-0), matchday 12 continues with Le Havre–Nantes and Monaco–Lens this Saturday, followed by five matches on Sunday, before the clash Lyon–PSG at 8:45 PM.
