After Bayern’s 3–1 defeat at the Emirates, Joshua Kimmich didn’t just break down the match — he revealed which team truly impressed him this season. And between PSG and Arsenal, the gap is huge.
Kimmich could have joined PSG last summer, and listening to him now, you’d think he might regret not making the move. Speaking in the mixed zone, the German midfielder admitted that facing Paris was on a completely different level.
“Against Paris, it felt more like real football. PSG were our toughest opponent, especially because of the way they play,” he explained. “Arsenal is completely different — they rely a lot on set pieces.”
Arsenal? “Not really football.”
For Kimmich, PSG offered the full package: technique, control, identity, pure football.
Arsenal, on the other hand? He didn’t sugar-coat it. Kimmich essentially claimed the Gunners’ style is based on duels, dead balls and chaos — not the kind of football that impressed him in Paris.
Bottom line: between PSG and Arsenal, Kimmich has spoken loud and clear. The team that made the biggest impact on him this season… is PSG.
