Lucas Chevalier came frighteningly close to the worst against Monaco. After an extremely borderline challenge from Lamine Camara, who escaped with only a yellow card, the PSG goalkeeper saw his ankle twist in a way that looked disastrous on the footage.
After the match, the French international admitted he feared for his career in that moment. He explained that his entire season could have flipped instantly because of that tackle. He said he was “very lucky” and relieved to be able to keep playing normally.
“For my ankle, I think everyone saw it. Today, my career could have taken a completely different turn and I was very lucky. I didn’t dwell on it, it was over.”
Despite the scare, Chevalier stayed solid afterwards.

“But sometimes there are gestures you need to avoid. Today, I just know I was very lucky and that I’ll be able to keep playing football every week,” the former Lille keeper told beIN Sports.
It was a huge scare, but ultimately no serious injury for the Paris keeper, who finished the match strongly despite the shock.
Chevalier even showed the mark left by the stud after the game, proof of how dangerous the action was.
