Paris Saint-Germain collapsed in Monaco (1–0), and Luis Enrique’s press conference was as brutal as the team’s performance. No sugar-coating, no excuses — the coach openly admitted it: PSG delivered their worst match of the season.
Luis Enrique didn’t hold back. “They played better than us. It was difficult from the start. It’s hard to have continuity when you make individual mistakes,” he said, visibly irritated. Paris never found any rhythm and spent the evening overwhelmed by Monaco’s intensity.
“It’s our worst game of the season”
Despite a packed schedule, Enrique refused to blame fatigue. “It would be too easy to say my team was tired. At the top level, you have to perform every day.” A clear warning to his players, who produced a festival of sloppy touches, errors and poor decisions.
Monaco “deserved more than us”
Even after going down to ten men late on, Monaco looked more dangerous and committed. “It wasn’t easy for them either, but they deserved more than us. It was a bad night for us — a very bad one,” Enrique admitted.
The final blow: “We have to accept the level we showed”
The coach finished with a blunt message: “When you play like this, with so many mistakes, it’s impossible to win. We have to accept the level we showed today. I need to rewatch the game, but with so many inaccuracies, it’s tough.”
Clear message from Enrique: PSG weren’t good enough — and the players must take responsibility. Now shaken and beaten, Paris will need a reaction.
