A hard-fought final decided on penalties

“We had a very good first half, we controlled it well and managed to press our opponent, but after the penalty it became more balanced and more difficult. I have to congratulate Flamengo not only for today’s match, but also for their season,” said the Spanish coach.

The same sense of pride was shared within the PSG squad. Warren Zaïre-Emery, who started in the unusual role of right-back, emphasized the team’s collective spirit: “We came here to win. The coach gave us that mentality, the collective above all. It shows our strength.”
