According to Planeta Real Madrid and El Nacional, PSG are reportedly preparing behind the scenes a completely crazy offer to try to lure Vinicius Junior as early as next summer.
Vinicius to PSG next summer to replace Dembélé? Nasser al-Khelaïfi, a great admirer of the Brazilian winger, would be ready to offer a salary of €40 million per season—almost double what he currently earns—along with a €50 million signing bonus. The goal: not to wait for the end of his contract and to pull off a huge move on the market.
The Salary Cap Dilemma
But this information raises a serious credibility issue given PSG’s current policy. At the same time, Nasser al-Khelaïfi confirmed on Canal+ that talks are underway to extend Ousmane Dembélé, who is under contract until 2028, while acknowledging that negotiations are complicated because of the salary cap.
The Parisian president was very clear: “There is a salary cap at PSG, everyone knows it and everyone has to respect it. No one can break it.” PSG has indeed made a first oral offer to Dembélé, considered consistent with the club’s wage structure, but the message is firm: even the highest-paid player in the squad, even a Ballon d’Or winner, cannot exceed this ceiling.
So one question inevitably arises: how could PSG promise €40 million per year to Vinicius while already being stuck on the Dembélé case because of the salary cap? Either the rumor is greatly exaggerated, or Paris would be ready to completely change its doctrine for a truly exceptional player. For now, caution is clearly advised.
