Two absentees against Newcastle, PSG almost at full strength!

A crucial appointment awaits PSG. This Wednesday, the Parisians (6th) host Newcastle (7th) at the Parc des Princes for matchday 8 of the 2025–2026 Champions League (9 p.m., Canal+). And a few days before the showdown, the mood is finally turning optimistic on Luis Enrique’s side.

After training, the club gave an update on the medical room: Quentin Ndjantou is continuing his individual program, but Kang-In Lee has returned to full team training. Above all, excellent news is being confirmed: Fabian Ruiz, Joao Neves and Achraf Hakimi are very close to a comeback, as is Nuno Mendes.

Hakimi eager to return to action

But it is indeed the return of the Moroccan full-back Hakimi that changes everything. PSG are looking for a second wind at the start of 2026, and Hakimi could be its symbol. Back at the PSG Campus, he has looked in great shape and, above all, highly motivated.

According to L’Équipe, he has only one idea in mind: to dive straight back into competition to turn the page on his recent disappointment.

His comeback could trigger a real domino effect within the team. First through his direct impact on the right flank, where his speed and forward runs often make the difference. But also in midfield: with Hakimi available again, Warren Zaïre-Emery will be able to return to his natural position in the engine room. The result: more competition, more options and more solutions for Luis Enrique. PSG are getting stronger at just the right time—a timely return for the European champions.
