Paris Saint-Germain will have to cope without one of its defenders. Booked during the emphatic win against FC Nantes (3-0), Illia Zabarnyi has reached a costly threshold.
Zabarnyi does not play much, but he collects plenty of bookings. With this latest yellow card, the Ukrainian international has hit five cautions in just 24 matches. The immediate consequence is an automatic one-match suspension, arriving at a difficult time for Paris as they compete on multiple fronts.
A costly suspension in a crucial period
The ruling is official and leaves no room for doubt: “A one-match suspension following a fifth caution (Ligue 1 McDonald’s, Coupe de France, Trophée des Champions) or by revocation of a suspended sanction. The suspension takes effect from Tuesday, April 28, 2026,” the authority stated.
As a direct result, Zabarnyi will miss the away trip to FC Lorient. A significant absence for PSG, who will need to reshuffle their defense for this fixture.
A minor detail? Not really. In such a packed schedule, every absence matters—and this one could have a real impact.
