Paris Saint-Germain are keeping their feet on the ground. Four days after their incredible qualification for the Champions League final against Bayern Munich, the Parisian club defeated Brest 1-0 on Sunday and moved one step closer to the Ligue 1 title.
PSG beat Brest and should have been celebrating. But despite the important victory, the atmosphere inside the Paris dressing room was far from euphoric. Luis Enrique admitted that his squad was still emotionally drained after the intense night in Munich earlier this week.
Munich Emotions Still Affect PSG
“We are still hungover from Munich. Our minds are still in Munich, so it was difficult to prepare for this match,” the Spanish coach explained during his post-match press conference.
The PSG manager also confirmed that his players did not celebrate the near-confirmation of the Ligue 1 title. “We are already champions, 99.9%. We did not celebrate in the dressing room because we still have one more match left, the most important one of the season,” added Luis Enrique, already fully focused on the Champions League final against Arsenal.
PSG could officially be crowned French champions as early as Wednesday if they secure a positive result away at Lens.
