PSG are keeping a very close eye on William Saliba. The Arsenal centre-back, now considered one of the global references in his position, is among the elite profiles being monitored by Paris as they look to strengthen their defence in the medium term.
Another French international at PSG? Paris are ready to move for William Saliba if Arsenal open the door. According to Ekrem Konur, FC Barcelona are closely following the Frenchman’s situation. But the Catalan club are not alone: PSG and Real Madrid are also said to be on alert. And for Paris, this is far from a minor case.
PSG Keep Monitoring France’s Defensive Elite
Paris want to continue building a top-level defence around powerful, young players capable of playing out cleanly from the back. Saliba ticks every box. A France international, dominant in the Premier League, strong in duels and very calm under pressure, the former Saint-Étienne and Marseille player has the ideal profile for an ambitious PSG side.
For Paris, Saliba would represent more than just a reinforcement. It would be a real statement signing on the French market, with a player already established among the best defenders in the world. PSG are fully aware of how difficult the deal would be, but remain attentive to the slightest sign of an opening.
Arsenal, for their part, have no desire to sell. The defender is under contract until 2030 and the Gunners consider him almost untouchable. The London club would reportedly demand at least €150 million to even consider a departure. It is a huge, deliberately dissuasive fee, one that would make Saliba the most expensive centre-back in history. But in a market where prices keep soaring, PSG know that impossible deals can sometimes move very quickly. For now, Paris are watching. Barça are pushing, Real Madrid are monitoring, and Arsenal are closing the door. But if a gap opens, PSG could very quickly position themselves for William Saliba.
