Paris Saint-Germain’s transfer window could ultimately be much quieter than expected for Ilia Zabarnyi and Lucas Chevalier. After several weeks of rumors surrounding their futures, both players are now expected to remain in Paris this season.
PSG’s squad is unlikely to change much more, at least defensively. While Mbaye and Barcola could leave, the Parisian back line is expected to remain stable. Despite the rumors, Ilia Zabarnyi has never been considered a player PSG wanted to sell. Despite interest from other clubs and speculation over a possible transfer, the Ukrainian defender remains part of the club’s plans, according to Onze Mondial.
Zabarnyi and Chevalier Expected to Stay at PSG
PSG therefore intends to continue with Zabarnyi, who remains an important option at center-back. Although his future sometimes appeared uncertain in the media, the club’s position has reportedly always been to keep him. Lucas Chevalier’s situation was slightly less clear, with the French goalkeeper also linked with a possible departure amid strong competition for the starting role.
However, the trend has now changed for Chevalier as well. He is expected to stay at PSG and continue his career in the French capital. For Luis Enrique, keeping both players would provide valuable stability, with Zabarnyi a major option in central defense and Chevalier remaining an important part of the goalkeeping hierarchy.
Barring a late twist in the final days of the transfer window, Ilia Zabarnyi and Lucas Chevalier are therefore expected to wear the PSG shirt this season.
