PSG are determined to quickly move on from their pitch fiasco. Forced to relocate their match against Rennes to Roazhon Park, the Parisian club now has one priority: to return to the Parc des Princes for the home game against Monaco, scheduled for Friday, September 4.
PSG are likely to replace the entire pitch. In a statement, Paris first addressed the supporters affected by the last-minute change: “Paris Saint-Germain fully understands the inconvenience caused by this change for its supporters and everyone who had planned to attend the match at the Parc des Princes.” The club added that it regretted this “exceptional situation” and would provide ticket holders with further information as soon as possible.
A New Pitch Before the Monaco Game?
PSG also confirmed that they have already identified a potential solution. In the same statement, the club said that its teams had found “a solution for replacing the Parc des Princes pitch” ahead of the upcoming matches. Time is running out, with only around two weeks between Rennes vs PSG and PSG vs Monaco, meaning swift action will be required to restore the playing surface.
According to Ouest-France, Paris recently considered urgently importing rolls of turf from the Netherlands before ultimately ruling out that option. It remains to be seen whether that plan has now been revived or whether the club has chosen another solution.
One thing seems clear: PSG are determined to return to the Parc des Princes on September 4 against Monaco.
