PSG are on the brink of reaching the Champions League final after securing a narrow first-leg advantage: a single-goal lead (5-4). Here’s how Paris can make it to Budapest on May 30.
The Parisian club moved closer to a place in the final after taking the upper hand in the first leg. With a 5-4 victory, PSG approach the return leg with a slim lead but remain under pressure. The advantage could have been greater, as PSG were leading 5-1 before being quickly caught back by the Bavarians.
What PSG Must Do to Reach the Final
This tight scoreline leaves all possibilities open, even if Paris retain a valuable edge ahead of this decisive clash.
To qualify for the final, PSG must at least maintain their aggregate lead over the two matches. A win or a draw would be enough, while even a narrow defeat could still see the Parisians advance—either through extra time or a penalty shootout.
However, a heavier loss by more than two goals would eliminate PSG. Everything will be decided in the return leg on Wednesday night at 9 p.m., where PSG must deliver to secure a place in another European final. Back-to-back glory is just 90 minutes—or perhaps 120 minutes—away.
