After winning their first-ever Champions League title, will Paris Saint-Germain proudly wear a star on their jersey next season? The answer remains… unclear.
According to RMC Sport and Jérôme Rothen, the club’s current stance is to stay humble and focused, choosing not to add a star for just one title. PSG reportedly wants to project the image of a long-term powerhouse, rather than celebrate a single success. Even the Club World Cup win won’t be symbolized on the kit.
A collector’s edition shirt—featuring a stylized star in the shape of the Eiffel Tower, the number 25, and “Champions of Europe”—has been designed for fans. But it won’t be worn during official matches.
Not Final Yet…
However, L’Équipe reports that the decision isn’t set in stone. “The matter is still under discussion. It’s anything but a neutral move,” a club source explained. Ultimately, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi will have the final say.
For now, PSG seems to be resisting the symbolic gesture—a contrast to clubs like Marseille, Celtic, Nottingham Forest, or Aston Villa, who all added a star after their only European Cup.
Stay tuned. Paris could still surprise.
