Paris Saint-Germain are holding their breath ahead of the 2026 Champions League final. Starting against Paris FC this Sunday on the final Ligue 1 matchday, Ousmane Dembélé was forced off after just 27 minutes following physical discomfort.
PSG could have done without this scare. The Parisian forward is reportedly suffering from a simple muscle contracture according to the first reports. While leaving the pitch, the Ballon d’Or contender allegedly told the staff that it felt “a bit tight” but that it had not “snapped,” giving hope that the injury may not be serious.
Dembélé Scare Before Arsenal Final
Despite the initial optimism, PSG’s medical staff will now monitor his condition very closely over the coming days. This early substitution has inevitably sparked major concern in Paris just thirteen days before the Champions League final against Arsenal on May 30 in Budapest.
Luis Enrique can hardly imagine losing his most decisive attacking player of the season before the biggest match of the year. PSG are expected to communicate further after Dembélé undergoes medical examinations in the coming hours.
For now, the French champions are simply hoping this was only a warning sign without serious consequences before the most important appointment of their season.
