After an impressive double in the first half, Luis Diaz turned the match around… in both directions. Brilliant and then sent off for an extremely dangerous tackle on Hakimi, the Colombian experienced a night of duality that has drawn reactions from the entire German press.
There is always a villain in major encounters. The villain of PSG-Bayern is Luis Diaz. Yet everything had started well for him. The Colombian first dazzled the first half with his energy, positive aggression, and effectiveness, scoring two goals: one opportunistically, the other earned after putting Marquinhos under pressure.
An offensive performance of very high level, in line with his excellent start to the season, which could have made him the hero of the evening.
“Brutal,” “unnecessary,” and “dangerous.”
But everything changed just before halftime. In a moment of excessive commitment, Diaz took down Hakimi from behind, a horrible tackle that left the Parisian in tears and led to an indisputable red card after VAR review.
German media have since oscillated between admiration and outrage, describing the act as “brutal,” “unnecessary,” and “dangerous.” His double should have crowned him man of the match; his foul turns him into the designated culprit of an action that could cost Bayern dearly… and especially Hakimi.
On social media, PSG and Morocco supporters have set the player’s Instagram account ablaze with insults. Luis Diaz has not made many friends in Paris…
