Christophe Galtier could well return to Ligue 1 in the coming years. After moving abroad following his departure from Paris Saint-Germain in 2023, the French coach is certainly not ruling out a return to the French league. Under contract with Neom until next June, he insists that he intends to continue his coaching career for several more seasons.

Since the end of his time at PSG, Christophe Galtier has chosen to continue his career away from France. The coach first joined Al-Duhail in Qatar before moving to Neom in Saudi Arabia. At 60, the former Saint-Étienne, Lille, Nice and PSG boss is approaching another turning point, with his contract at Neom due to expire next June.

Galtier Leaves the Door Open to Ligue 1

Asked by Le Parisien about his future, Christophe Galtier made it clear that he would consider a return to Ligue 1. “I will never close the door on France or on ‘my’ league, that’s for sure. But I may stay abroad, in Saudi Arabia, Asia, South America, Europe or elsewhere. I don’t know what will happen,” the Frenchman explained.

One thing, however, has already been decided: Galtier is not considering retirement yet. “But one thing is certain: I will still be a coach for at least the next three years,” he said.

After several seasons away from France, a return to Ligue 1 therefore remains a possibility for the next stage of Christophe Galtier’s career. It remains to be seen whether an opportunity capable of convincing him will emerge as early as next summer.
