Lucas Digne is officially back at Paris Saint-Germain. Thirteen years after first joining the French capital, the French left-back has signed a three-year contract running until June 2029.
Digne is returning to Paris and to PSG. For his second spell with the club, he will wear the number 12 shirt. It is a symbolic choice for the 33-year-old France international, who returns with considerable experience after leaving PSG in 2015.
Digne returns to PSG with number 12
PSG have therefore handed Lucas Digne the number 12 shirt for this new chapter of his career. The Frenchman returns to a club he already knows well, but in a completely different context. During his first spell between 2013 and 2015, he was still a young full-back developing his game. He now comes back as an experienced player following spells with AS Roma, FC Barcelona, Everton and Aston Villa.
Digne made 44 appearances for PSG during his first spell, providing five assists. Since then, he has passed the 500-club-appearance mark and earned 64 caps for France, establishing himself as one of the most experienced French players of his generation.
His role in Paris will therefore be very different from the one he had thirteen years ago. Luis Enrique will be able to rely on his European experience, crossing ability and versatility across different defensive systems, with Digne now returning to PSG with a much more senior status.
