Another injury concern for PSG. Ferran Torres has left the Spain squad early because of pain in his left ankle. The Paris forward will return to the French capital to continue his recovery and will miss La Roja’s upcoming matches.
The international break has been cut short for Ferran Torres. Although he had still been training normally with Spain, the PSG forward has been dealing with discomfort in his left ankle for several days. The pain had initially prevented him from neither training nor playing, but with the symptoms persisting, the Spanish national team eventually decided not to take any risks and released the striker.
No Injury Diagnosis Yet for Ferran Torres
Torres will therefore miss the Nations League matches against the Czech Republic in Oviedo on Saturday and Croatia on Tuesday. The key point, however, is that no specific injury has yet been diagnosed. The Spanish Football Federation has reported persistent pain in his left ankle without confirming any lesion. Spain and PSG’s medical staffs have been in contact since the start of the international camp and have jointly monitored the player’s condition.
Sending him back to Paris therefore appears primarily to be a precautionary measure. PSG can now carry out its own examinations and determine whether Torres simply needs a few days of rest or whether the problem is more serious. His condition will be closely monitored, especially with Paris returning to action against Le Mans on October 10 before facing Manchester City in the Champions League on October 14.
Spain have already called up his replacement, Real Madrid U21 international Carlos Espí. For PSG, the priority now is to establish the exact severity of Torres’ ankle problem. The forward is returning to Paris with an injury concern, but no timetable for his absence has yet been announced.
