PSG: A Major Obstacle for Julian Alvarez Transfer

Julian Alvarez’s name continues to be heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain. Already targeted when he left Manchester City for Atlético Madrid in the summer of 2024, the Argentine forward is once again among the players being monitored by several of Europe’s biggest clubs.

A move to Paris remains a possibility, but PSG are far from alone in the race. Barcelona, Arsenal, and even Real Madrid are also keeping a close eye on the 2022 World Cup winner, who remains under contract with Atlético Madrid until 2030.

Spain Remains His Preferred Destination

According to reports from Onda Cero, people close to the player still favor a future in Spain. That preference could significantly complicate PSG’s plans despite the club’s long-standing interest in the former Manchester City striker.

Meanwhile, Atlético Madrid have no intention of selling their attacking star. Club officials view Alvarez as one of the key pillars of Diego Simeone’s project and would only consider negotiations if an extraordinary offer arrived.

As a result, PSG would need to be extremely persuasive, both financially and sportingly, if they hope to secure the signature of one of the most sought-after forwards in European football.
