Paris Saint-Germain officially announced a new move involving one of its young forwards on Tuesday. After joining from Stade Tunisien on loan in the summer of 2025, Khalil Ayari is now a permanent PSG player. The 21-year-old was immediately loaned to Ligue 2 side USL Dunkerque for one season, without an option to buy.
After spending his first season mainly with the reserve squad, Ayari was unable to establish himself in PSG’s attacking hierarchy. Luis Enrique had nevertheless given him the opportunity to take part in pre-season training with the first team so the coaching staff could assess his potential.
PSG Still Believes in Ayari’s Potential
The young forward ultimately failed to convince the Parisian staff. Despite showing some promising qualities, he did not earn the role he had hoped for in the rotation, prompting the club to seek a solution that would allow him to gain regular playing time at a more competitive level. PSG still decided to activate the purchase option included in his loan from Stade Tunisien, demonstrating that the club continues to believe in his potential and room for development.
Following his permanent transfer, Ayari has joined USL Dunkerque on a season-long loan without an option to buy. The ambitious Ligue 2 club hopes to give him a more important role and help him continue his development. For PSG, the arrangement allows the player to play regularly while the club retains control over his future. A successful season in Dunkerque could enable him to return to Paris with greater experience and compete for another opportunity at the highest level.
