Paris Saint-Germain are continuing their search for a replacement for Gonçalo Ramos following his move to AC Milan. With this in mind, the French capital club have reportedly made Ferran Torres one of their main attacking targets for the summer transfer window.
Ferran Torres could become PSG’s bargain signing of the summer. According to several Spanish media outlets, including Marca, Paris are preparing an offer for the 26-year-old Barcelona forward. However, PSG are reportedly unwilling to meet the €50 million asking price set by the Catalan club.
PSG Rely on Luis Enrique’s Influence
Luis Enrique is expected to play a central role in the deal. The Paris coach knows Ferran Torres extremely well and is said to have a close relationship with the Spanish international. His influence has reportedly been decisive in convincing the player of the merits of PSG’s project.
Barcelona value their forward at around €50 million due to his efficiency and versatility, but PSG’s directors do not entirely share that assessment. Although a €40 million proposal was recently mentioned in France, the club’s actual offer could ultimately be even lower.
PSG believe time is on their side. Should Ferran Torres officially request a move to Paris, Barcelona could lose some of their negotiating power. The French champions therefore intend to remain patient and secure the best possible price.
