The Ibrahim Mbaye situation remains much more complicated than Bradley Barcola’s. While Liverpool have been working for several weeks on deals for both Paris Saint-Germain players, the Reds have still not reached an agreement with Paris for the young Senegal international.
Mbaye is no longer being selected by Luis Enrique, making a departure increasingly likely. However, negotiations with Liverpool have stalled over the financial gap between the two clubs. PSG are reportedly asking for between €50 million and €60 million, while Liverpool are currently unwilling to go beyond €40 million.
Liverpool and PSG remain far apart on Mbaye
Liverpool’s interest in Mbaye is not new. As with Barcola, the Premier League club have been working on the deal for several weeks and are hoping to strengthen their attack before the transfer window closes. Unlike the Barcola negotiations, which are said to be close to a conclusion, talks over Mbaye have not yet brought the clubs sufficiently close together. According to PSGINSIDE-ACTUS, Liverpool currently value the player at around €40 million, while PSG remain firm on a valuation of €50 million to €60 million. At this stage, no agreement is believed to exist.

Liverpool are not Mbaye’s only suitors, however. The Senegal international reportedly has several offers and is attracting interest from a number of clubs, which could change the situation during the final days of the transfer window. PSGINSIDE-ACTUS believes that even if discussions with Liverpool fail, a move elsewhere remains very possible, while staying at PSG is currently viewed as an unlikely scenario.
The situations of PSG’s two attackers have therefore become very different. After several weeks of negotiations, Barcola is reportedly close to joining Liverpool, while Mbaye’s future remains much more uncertain. The final week of the transfer window could still accelerate developments, with Liverpool and other interested clubs expected to keep pushing for the young Senegalese forward.
