Paris Saint-Germain remain interested in signing Zion Suzuki, but the French champions are facing growing competition for the highly-rated Japanese goalkeeper.
Suzuki has become one of the most sought-after goalkeepers on the market this summer. PSG and Juventus are among the clubs pursuing him, but according to Fabrizio Romano, several Premier League teams are also monitoring the Parma shot-stopper. Newcastle had explored the player’s situation in recent weeks but have reportedly withdrawn from the race and shifted their focus to another goalkeeper.
Juventus and PSG Battle for Zion Suzuki
Juventus are considered one of PSG’s main rivals in the race for Suzuki. The Turin club reportedly submitted an initial offer to Parma, but it was rejected. Despite that setback, the Italian giants continue to view the Japanese international as one of their top targets between the posts.
As previously reported, PSG see Suzuki as a long-term investment. The club has gathered information about the conditions of a potential transfer and could buy him before sending him out on loan so he can continue playing as a first-choice goalkeeper. Suzuki may be reluctant to move to Paris immediately if it means serving as Lucas Chevalier’s backup. Parma are reportedly asking for around €30 million, leaving PSG with the challenge of convincing both the Italian club and the player while Juventus could offer him a more prominent role from the outset.
