Despite winning their first-ever Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain has decided not to display a star above their badge next season. It’s a bold statement from a club that sees itself aiming for much more.
The decision, now official, is symbolic of PSG’s ambition: rather than celebrating like a small club after a single triumph, the Parisians want to present themselves as a future dynasty in European football.
A Collector’s Item for Fans
For supporters eager to commemorate the historic victory, a special collector’s jersey is already available. It features a star shaped like the Eiffel Tower, the inscription “Champions of Europe,” and the number 25. But this version won’t be worn by the players on the pitch.
No Star at the Club World Cup Either
According to RMC Sport, the same approach will apply at the upcoming Club World Cup starting June 14. As confirmed by Jérôme Rothen, PSG has no plans to showcase a star during the tournament either, preferring to avoid overhyping their success.
This mindset sends a clear message: one title is great, but building a legacy is better. One star marks an achievement. Multiple stars build a legend.
