The transfer battle between two European giants is officially underway. While Paris Saint-Germain believed they had taken the lead in the race to sign Franco Mastantuono (17), Real Madrid has hit back hard.
Just days ago, Mastantuono looked set to join PSG—but the Argentine wonderkid has now also given the green light to Los Blancos, according to AS and Fabrizio Romano.
Real Madrid Hit Fast-Forward
Initially planning to wait until the January window, Real Madrid were forced into action by PSG’s aggressive approach. In response, top scout Juni Calafat flew urgently to Buenos Aires to finalize a deal: activate the €45 million release clause and leave the player at River Plate on loan until December.
PSG Still in the Fight
PSG haven’t surrendered. Luis Enrique, personally involved, has spoken directly with the player to convince him to choose Paris. But with a verbal agreement now reportedly in place with Madrid, the Parisians must now go all-in to avoid losing out on one of Argentina’s brightest stars.
River Plate’s stance is firm: no negotiations—€45M or nothing. The war between PSG and Real Madrid for Mastantuono is very much on.
