Paris Saint-Germain are closing in on a major defensive reinforcement. According to journalist Nicolò Schira, Ilya Zabarnyi has agreed to join PSG on a deal running until 2030. The 22-year-old Ukrainian centre-back has already given the green light—now it’s up to the clubs to finalize the transfer fee.
Zabarnyi, currently under contract with Bournemouth until 2028, is a top target for Luis Campos, who views him as a future leader in PSG’s back line. The personal terms are set, but negotiations with the Premier League club remain ongoing.
Bournemouth have no intention of letting him go cheaply, especially given Zabarnyi’s rapid rise and importance in the squad. A transfer fee north of €40 million is likely to be required.
Patience in Paris
Originally, PSG hoped to include Zabarnyi in their squad for the FIFA Club World Cup, but timing issues have pushed the move beyond that. Still, with agreement in place on the player’s side, confidence is high that the deal will be completed soon.
Zabarnyi to PSG: it’s now just a matter of time.
